Music and healing
Music has a unique ability to touch parts of us that ordinary conversation cannot reach. In this group, we explore how rhythm, melody, and sound can support emotional release, relaxation, and personal insight. You don’t need musical experience — just an openness to noticing how different kinds of music make you feel. We may listen together, use simple instruments, or reflect on songs that have been meaningful in our lives. As we share, we learn from one another’s experiences and discover how music can comfort us, energize us, or help us express things we didn’t know how to say. This group creates a space where music becomes a gentle partner in healing and an invitation to reconnect with hope, joy, and resilience. You might leave with new ways to use sound and rhythm to support your daily wellness

Feeding the brain
What we eat doesn’t just affect our bodies — it influences mood, energy, focus, and overall wellness. In this group, we explore how nutrition supports brain health and emotional balance. We discuss foods that help with memory, concentration, and stable moods, as well as simple, accessible ways to incorporate them into daily life. Participants share their experiences with food, what helps them feel their best, and what habits they want to improve. The goal isn’t to create strict rules but to build awareness about how certain choices can support mental well-being. As we learn together, we discover that feeding the brain is an act of self-care that empowers us to feel more grounded, clear, and resilient. This group helps participants see how small changes in nutrition can make a meaningful difference in how we feel each day.

Staying calm and reducing anxiety
Anxiety can make even ordinary moments feel overwhelming, but small tools and shared wisdom can make a significant difference. In this group, we explore gentle practices that help calm the mind and body, such as grounding techniques, breathing exercises, and simple mindset shifts. The focus is not on eliminating anxiety but on understanding it and learning ways to navigate it with more ease and confidence. Participants are invited to share what has helped them, what challenges they face, and what they wish they could do differently. As we talk, we learn from one another’s insights and discover new approaches to staying steady during stressful times. This group offers encouragement, practical ideas, and a sense of companionship — reminding us that we don’t have to face anxiety alone, and that healing often comes through practicing calm one moment at a time.

Facing g the fears of returning to work
Going back to work can bring up a mix of excitement, hope, and fear. This group offers a supportive space to talk about those feelings honestly and to explore practical ways to manage the transition. We discuss common concerns — such as confidence, stamina, workplace culture, asking for help, or balancing wellness with responsibilities — and look at strategies that can help ease the return. Participants share their own experiences, including what helped them, what challenges came up, and what they wish they had known beforehand. Together, we learn that fear is normal, but it doesn’t have to stop us. This group encourages participants to imagine what a healthy work life could look like and to take small, meaningful steps toward it. Returning to work becomes not just a requirement but an opportunity to grow, rebuild confidence, and move toward a life that feels purposeful and empowering.

Art and mental health
Art can help us express feelings that are difficult to name and open the door to understanding ourselves in new ways. In this group, we explore how creativity supports healing, grounding, and emotional clarity. Whether you have a long relationship with art or you simply want to try something new, you’ll find a welcoming place to experiment without pressure or judgment. We provide materials and encourage you to explore colors, textures, and images that reflect your inner world. As we create, we talk with one another about what we notice and what the process brings up for us. The conversation is warm, supportive, and driven by the insights participants share — because we learn best when we learn together. This group invites you to connect with your own resilience and to discover how creative expression can gently guide you toward peace, confidence, and a deeper sense of self.

Self-care: what it looks like and why it is important
Self-care is often talked about but rarely explored in a meaningful, personal way. In this group, we look at what self-care truly means — not just bubble baths or treats, but the intentional practices that help us stay grounded, healthy, and connected to ourselves. We discuss physical, emotional, social, and spiritual self-care, and how each person’s needs are unique. Participants reflect on what restores them, what drains them, and what small steps might strengthen their well-being. As we share experiences, we learn from one another and discover practical ways to make self-care part of daily life. This group reminds us that caring for ourselves is not selfish — it is a vital part of recovery and of building a life where we can thrive. Self-care becomes a commitment to honoring our needs, our energy, and our worth.

Crafts for healing and mindfulness
Crafting offers a simple yet powerful way to slow down, focus, and reconnect with yourself. In this group, we explore how working with our hands can quiet the mind, ease stress, and restore balance. We’ll provide accessible materials for a calming craft activity, giving everyone the chance to engage in a process that supports mindfulness and emotional well-being. The goal is not to create something perfect — it’s to enjoy the experience, notice what comes forward internally, and be present with yourself and the group. As we craft, we share reflections and learn from one another’s experiences, discovering how small, creative moments can bring grounding and joy into our daily lives. This is a gentle, welcoming space where creativity becomes a pathway to healing, connection, and renewed energy for building the life we want.

Support animals and how they work
Support animals play an important role in helping people feel safer, calmer, and more grounded, but many of us don’t fully understand how they are trained, what they are allowed to do, or how they support emotional wellness. In this group, we explore the different types of support animals — from emotional support animals to service animals — and what makes each one unique. We discuss the benefits they provide, the laws that protect them, and the responsibilities involved in having one. Participants are encouraged to share their experiences with animals and the ways pets or support animals have helped them feel connected or supported. Together, we learn how the companionship of an animal can reduce stress, increase independence, and strengthen overall well-being. This group helps clarify myths, answer questions, and offer insights for anyone considering a support animal or simply curious about how these partnerships work.

The power of gratitude.
Gratitude can transform the way we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. In this group, we explore what gratitude really means — not as a forced positivity, but as a way of recognizing the small moments of goodness that often go unnoticed. We’ll engage in simple activities that help us reflect on what strengthens us, what gives us hope, and what supports our well-being. When shared in community, gratitude becomes even more powerful; as people speak about what they appreciate, we learn from each other and often feel our own hearts shift. This group offers a chance to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the parts of our lives that sustain us. By the end, many participants find that even small acknowledgments of gratitude can bring renewed energy, perspective, and a sense of possibility.

We’ll also be exchanging gifts and voting on topics for the coming year.
For the gift exchange, please bring a wrapped gift ($5 or less) or a gently used item from home. No cash or gift cards, please. When you arrive, place your gift on the table and you’ll receive a number for the exchange.

Aging well
Aging well is about more than getting older — it’s about staying engaged, nurturing our spirits, and caring for our bodies and minds in ways that support a full and meaningful life. In this group, we explore the physical, emotional, and social aspects of aging, and what it means to approach each stage of life with intention and resilience. Participants share their experiences with growing older, including the joys, challenges, and unexpected insights that come with time. We discuss habits that support wellness, ways to stay connected, and how to adapt gracefully to changing needs or abilities. How to put play in your life
Play isn’t just for children — it’s an essential part of wellness, creativity, and joy. Yet many of us forget how to play as adults. This group is a chance to rediscover fun, imagination, and lightness. We’ll explore simple, low-pressure activities that invite laughter, movement, or creativity, helping us reconnect with parts of ourselves that often get buried by stress or responsibility. We talk together about the role of play in our emotional health and how bringing even a little playfulness into daily life can shift our mindset, reduce anxiety, and open us up to possibility. As we experiment with playful moments, we learn from what others notice and share. This group is an opportunity to reconnect with joy and to remember that building a life we love includes making room for delight.
